Dr Clare Anyiam-Osigwe B.E.M is a serial entrepreneur. Having founded the world's first Allergen-free beauty company in 2011, Clare single-handedly revolutionised the natural beauty market with her handcrafted brand PremaeUK which have won 17 industry awards including a British Empire Medal from The Queen in 2017. Clare is also the founder of On Point Communications (formerly JoClarePR) - a PR agency which specialises in Film and Lifestyle brands, with a particular enthuses on promoting emerging and established black businesses . Together with her husband Emmanuel, Clare is the Co-Founder of BUFF Originals - a film production company, who independently released their critically acclaimed debut feature 'No Shade' into U.K cinemas November 2018 as the 6th black British female director to achieve a theatrical release in the U.K. ”

 

Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe is the director of the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) which he founded in 2005. To date, the festival has screened over 500 films, securing broadcast platforms for Black and Minority Ethnic writers, actors, actresses, producers and directors on the BBC i-player, Channel 4, Community Channel, Sky and London Live. In September 2015, BUFF launched its’ own awards and honours system. The first recipient of the honorary award was Rain Pryor, daughter of the American actor and comedian, Richard Pryor. Later that year, Anyiam-Osigwe received an icon recognition award from Creativity Hub Magazine for 10 years service to film exhibition. In 2017, the BUFF awards, which are hosted annually, took place at the BT Tower in London and was broadcast live on Facebook for the very first time. Emmanuel is a presenter of the film show ‘Meet The Critics’ on Colourful Radio - the UK's leading talk radio station for black audiences and also a jury member of the BAFTA-recognised Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York. 

 

In 2018, Anyiam-Osigwe, together with his wife Clare, announced that they were to produce and direct their first feature film under the BUFF Originals production arm of the film festival. The film, 'No Shade' is written and directed by Clare who uses her experiences as a dermatologist to present a British race drama about black love, dating and the problematic preference of skin tone.
